Dorothy is a fine artist of landscapes and animals. She paints on canvas, tile and tables and mainly works with oil and water colors. Dorothy is past president of the Pahrump Visual & Performing Arts Council, and has been very active in teaching local youth in her community at her studio.
This summer Dorothy had the opportunity to paint with Gary and Kathrin Jenkins in their home for a week long workshop. She is now in the process of becoming a Certified Artist under the direction of Robert Warren. She feels no other artist has the glow to his work that Robert has mastered. Dorothy is looking forward to the day that she can teach his technique to her students.
Dorothy got her certification in 2009, I hope this gives people who want to paint, the confidence in my ability to teach them Roberts way of approaching a canvas with the acrylic overlay and the black work to help set the depth in their painting. This method also gives their work a spot of inner glow that makes you step back and take a deep breath of amazement.
